Places I Go...

We all have places on the internet and in our community that we visit frequently for purchases, personal contacts, research, and recreation. I know that I value recommendations from trusted sources when I am looking for products and information. If you feel that the content of my website seems to "fit" with your lifestyle then you may find the Places I Go to be of value.

I purchase almost all of my supplements and personal care products from Vitacost for two reasons; they ship quickly and their prices can't be beat. I've been a customer for several years now and don't have a single complaint.

Before I make a purchase that involves the skin or hair I visit Skin Deep to figure out if the ingredients are safe and healthy. It has increased my awareness and ability to read cosmetic labels.

The buzz word for anyone who wants to get organized is FlyLady. She has a no-nonsense approach to getting control of yourself and your home in a way that is fun and manageable. I have not followed her methods for several years now, but I can say that she helped me through many rough patches where I felt I was merely surviving. Her steps helped me gain control and I still follow many of the lessons I learned from her.

Recently I found another site where I have enjoyed wonderful tips for getting organized. The site owner is LDS and approaches getting organized as a sacred duty to have a House of Order.

I always struggle to find a pediatrician that approaches the health and well-being of my children in a manner that I can live with. Since I became a mother I have first gone to Dr Sears for my questions about everything in regards to pregnancy, birth, breatsfeeding, and parenting. I don't always follow the suggestions found on Dr Sears' site, but it sure helps me the majority of the time when I have questions and no one "in real life" that I can go to.

My main source for information and support when it comes to breastfeeding would be La Leche League. For many years I attended meetings and found some very good friends who approached parenting in a manner similar to my own. I have often thought about becoming a leader. I have a huge amount of respect for this organization.

Accurate information allows us to make good choices. Often there are emails sent out by well meaning individuals that are less than truthful. Snopes is a good site to check for the validity of the latest circulating email(s). It has often saved me from believing in misinformation.

There should be no surprise that my main source of information in regards to my spiritual well-being would be The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It's a great resource for me when I have a topic I would like to study, or need exposure to something uplifting and faith promoting.

One of my favorite resources for lots of ideas and free printables would be Sugardoodle. This is a wonderful treasure for any LDS member who needs a little creative inspiration.
