MANAGE IT! [ORGANIZATION]

As we are blessed with posessions we have an obligation to manage it in a responsible and resourceful manner. This includes the income we receive and how we manage our finances and assets, no matter the amount. When you think of the care and upkeep of your home there is much to remember both short term and long term which may require some sort of method of notification, whether a printed reminder or digital, depending on your preference. If you rent your responsibility for home maintenance will not be as extensive, but your responsibilities still require a certain level of care. If you own a home and plan to  keep all of the structures, fixtures, and appliances looking and working well to help extend the life and usefulness of these items, then there is plenty of work to be done. For many years I have typically sat and brainstormed what each area of my home needs in regards to maintenance. Beyond basic daily and weekly cleaning, many items in and around the home may need a monthly, bi-yearly, yearly, or seasonal deep cleaning or further upkeep.

Financial awareness is extremely vital to the management of the home and family. Whether your income allows you to live comfortably, or stretches your resourcefulness, it's something to be grateful for and to use wisely. A large home, lots of posessions, and leisure activities that require more items that necessitate care and upkeep should be evaluated regularly. Teaching our children to value the time and money that is required for their activities and posessions will help them be more conscientious of what they ask for and how they treat what they already have. Learning how to live within our means sometimes requires doing without "extras", sometimes it requires figuring out how to bring in more income by changing jobs, sometimes it requires learning a new skill to start a new career path, and sometimes it requires asking for help if all other solutions seem to fail. When the basic needs of our family are met and we have opportunities to offer donation of time and resources to those who are in greater need, I believe it is an amazing opportunity and one we should seek after and get our family involved in when possible.
