ORGANIZE IT! [ORGANIZATION]

There are ideas aplenty that can help with just about any organization dilema. Finding simple solutions that can be easily maintained is always best. "A place for everything, everything in its place" is a fine motto to have. As the years have gone by and my living environment has changed with the ebb and flow of family members living in our home, moves between rental homes, and ultimately buying our first home, I have learned a lot about the value of being organized. I am far from where I hope to be and I frequently have ideas running through my mind about how to improve the function of the various living spaces I have throughout my home. Unfortunately I tend to get side-tracked (life events, health issues, seasonal demands, etc...) and do not always follow through with these ideas to 100% completion, which causes more disorder, but I'm trying to get better about that. Myself, as well as my home, is a work in progress, so a little forgiveness during the messy phase of a major reorganization is always a good thing. The end result is typically worth it....

There are many zones throughout the home. Where and how you store items depends a lot on how you use the rooms in your home, and the needs of the people you share your home with. If the method of organization is easy to understand and maintain, the likelihood of things finding their way back "home", and the ability to locate it easily for its next use, go way up. If you have been blessed with excess it can be a real challenge trying to find a place for it all. We have a lot of stuff, nothing wonderful or grand, but between impulse buys (it's really hard to walk away from a really good discount), gifts, and having a large family in a modest sized home, I'm always struggling to figure out how to fit it all in the space we have. My focus for years has been to continue making room for what we bring in but not so much on really letting things go. I do bag up and donate a LOT of items throughout the year, but I feel I can do more, and really feel that encouraging my children to do the same would go a long way towards having less stuff to organize.

[Some day I would like to share my personal organizational projects. Today is not that day, yet...]

ORGANIZE IT!

There are ideas aplenty that can help with just about any organization dilema. Finding simple solutions that can be easily maintained is always best. "A place for everything, everything in its place" is a fine motto to have.

CLEAN IT!

"My house is clean enough to be healthy... dirty enough to be happy." There are as many ways to clean as there are people. The key is to find what works in your home. There are many tips and tricks to help make cleaning easier on the entire family.

MANAGE IT!

As we are blessed with posessions we have an obligation to manage it in a responsible and resourceful manner. This includes the income we receive and how we manage our finances and assets, no matter the amount.

FIX IT!

Whether we rent or own a home it is often a joy to create a living environment filled with what makes us happy. Sometimes that means fixing up structures and items to be more functional, or bringing things together to create a pleasing space.
