There are many online, local, and published resources to research as you strive to find answers to your questions concerning personal and family health. This especially comes into play when looking for products, services, and remedies in areas related to our health and well-being.


PRODUCTS...

What we put on our skin, in our hair, and use for our everyday hygiene needs is something to consider carefully. Just as we should be concerned with what we put in our body we need to be just as concerned about what we put on them. The chemicals in the products we use do affect us and it's important that we are aware of the potential benefits or harm they may have. (07-2023 - I have updated and removed broken links/sites).


  • EWG's Skin Deep - This is the database I use to look up products before I buy them to get a good idea of what the ingredients are and what they mean to my health.

SERVICES...

The people we see when we're seeking after medical advice or treatment can either greatly benefit us or quite literally destroy our health. Getting personal recommendations is a great way to find a local practitioner that may also be a good fit for you. How you choose to manage your health, whether by more conventional, traditional, holistic, or naturopathic practices is a very personal matter. Not everyone has the same experiences or beliefs when it comes to preventative and diagnostic medical care. My personal discovery as I have sought after medical care from various kinds of practitioners is that I am rather non-conventional and tend to lean more towards the holistic and naturopathic side of things. I've also had great results with chiropractic care and acupuncture treatments in the past, and my personal favorite for maternity care and other female health issues is a midwife, or nurse midwife. REMEDIES...

When we look at our options for medicines that help without doing harm things can get really overwhelming. I rarely seek after or take prescription medications. If it's really needed it's needed, but more often than not I can find an herbal or homeopathic remedy or product that works just fine at relieving symptoms and helping my body heal. As with prescription drugs, how and when and with what you take these supplements is something to be careful about. Do some research first, seek after professional help, or a bit of both before self-diagnosing and treating. (07-2023 - I have updated and removed broken links/sites).

Planning and preparing what we put into our mouths can be one of the most frustrating and confusing things to figure out for those who are conscientious about such things.

Preventing burn-out is a very vital goal in maintaining ones health and well-being. Finding a balance that fits you and your family situation will go a long way to a healthy and happy life.
